Training Philosophy

At The Factory, we understand that the commitment to a personal trainer and workout plan can appear to be an enormous undertaking that involves your most valuable commodities: Your time and your money. However, using a highly measurable, results-oriented training philosophy, Chris "All-Star" Tolbert has worked with countless clients and delivered a priceless return on investment. The goal is to look better, feel better, and perform better. Always mindful of fundamentals, Chris consistently stresses proper form and breath control. Additionally, even though sessions can be both fun and complex, All-Star ensures that clients regularly perform standard exercises such as bench presses, dead lifts, and squats. While in session, it is expected that clients give one hundred percent effort toward maximizing their performance. The ability to mentally concentrate and channel one's energy in an effort to push through discomfort is a skill that is constantly practiced and developed over time. There is a consistent work ethic that a client is expected to embrace when he/she joins "The All-Star" Team; there is an accompanying mindset to be the best.

Custom Program Design

It all starts with an honest and comprehensive conversation on fitness goals and personal history that will set the tone for Constant and Never Ending improvement. After establishing specific goals, a workout regimen is created that incorporates weight resistance training, cardiovascular activity, and diet. Additionally, appropriate rest is factored into the program design to allow the body to recover. A sports periodization system is used to break things down into macro-cycles, meso-cycles, and 3-4 week micro-cycles so that goals are both manageable and measurable. Coaching is administered and frequent communication is expected to evaluate progress and make necessary adjustments.

It is paramount that workout sessions, exercises, and program design be conducted the RIGHT way. Chris "All-Star" Tolbert pushes his clients to do no less than what he expects of himself. In the pursuit of excellence, Chris puts a great deal of time into planning a customized program for each client. It is evident that this is more than work work - It's a lifestyle!

The Workout

Clients are strongly encouraged to arrive 5-10 minutes before each workout session to allow for stretching, warm-up, and mental focusing. Each session is challenging with the objective of stretching one's limits in an attempt to maximize his/her potential. The difficulty of the individual circuits will vary as a result of a change in load, speed, rest, and duration. Most clients should also expect core training and plyometric & dynamic activity to be cornerstones in their program designs - state of the art equipment such as medicine balls, stability balls, speed ladders, kettle bells, and Bosu Balance trainers are used to facilitate these exercises. Sessions are intended to be fun and stimulating, incorporating unique exercises that will keep clients alert and engaged; open communication and an intense high-energy training style will be the keys to success. At the end of every session, clients are challenged to dig deep and work through the "Big Finish".

The Big Finish

The anchor of every session, Chris "All-Star" Tolbert's patented "Big Finish" is the final circuit of the workout and designed to push a client to his/her absolute physical and mental limit. The objective is to elevate clients' heart rates, raise their endorphins, and boost their adrenaline. Since, there are literally hundreds of exercises that can be combined, "Big Finishes" are seldom duplicated. After the customary high-five, immediately upon completion of the "Big Finish" and some post-workout discussion, clients leave their session with an authentic sense of pride and achievement. The Factory works to ensure that every workout ends on a high note.
